Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
ABA is a scientific approach for understanding the relationship between an individual’s behavior and the environment. An ABA method is then specifically designed according to the needs of an individual and will be applied to significantly improve challenging behaviors.
ABA aims to find the interests of each patient and use these items to encourage them to learn new skills, and ultimately, to become independent individuals guided by appropriate behaviors.
Goals of the ABA Approach
Teach individuals with new skills. This could vary in the areas of academics, social and functional life skills, and communication.
Maintain appropriate behaviors. Patients will receive help in maintaining self-control and self-monitoring skills.
Increase or Improve behaviors. Appropriate behaviors will be taught to patients when it comes to any social interactions or situations.
